On the left side of the parking lot, just on the other side of the wooden fence, there appeared to be a variant of <I>Viola hallii</I> mixed in with common <I>V. hallii</I> plants. On the variant, the two upper petals were dark purple only on the back side and yellow on the front. Normally, the two upper petals of <I>V. hallii</I> are dark purple on both sides.
