| Comments | If you want to see the balsamroot/lupine displays, now is the time. The lupine is not yet at peak, and the balsamroot is just after its peak. (They rarely peak at the same time.) In addition to the Arrow-leaf Balsamroot (Balsamhoriza sagittata) and Columbia Gorge Lupine (Lupinus latifolius var. thompsonianus), there is plenty of Rigid Fiddleneck (Amsinckia retrorsa), Yakima Milk-vetch (Astragalus reventiformis), Small-flowered Prairie Star (Lithophragma parviflorum), and Smooth Prairie Star Lithophragma glabra) in bloom. |
