Horse Rock Ridge looks wonderful, and (barring intense heat) should continue that way for at least the next several weeks.<P>Blooming in the forest: profuse Pacific Starflower (Trientalis latifolia), Woods Strawberry (Fragaria vesca), Trailing Blackberry (Rubus ursinus), and Long-Tailed Ginger (Asarum caudatum). Salal (Gaultheria shallon) and Coralroot (Corallorrhiza sp.) starting soon.
<P>The meadows and hillsides are covered with profuse amounts of Oregon Sunshine (Eriophyllum lanatum) and Tolmie`s Cat`s Ears (Calochortus tolmiei). Rocky areas are covered by Olympic Onion (Allium crenulatum). Also blooming are Western Buttercup (Ranunculus occidentalis), Globe Gilia (Gilia capitata), Yellow Monkeyflower (Mimulus guttatus), Rosy Plectritis (Plectritis congesta), White-Top Clover (Trifolium variegatum), Harsh Paintbrush (Castilleja hispida), Blue Flax (Linum lewisii), Narrowleaf Paintbrush (Castilleja attenuata), Meadow Death Camas (Zigadenus venenosus), Menzies` Larkspur (Delphinium menziesii), and some patches of Dwarf Lupine (Lupinus lepidus var. lobbii).

Hundreds of Littleleaf Montia (Montia parviflora var. flagellaris) are about to open on rocky areas. Hundreds/thousands of Slender Clarkia (Clarkia gracilis) are just starting to open as well. Also on the verge of opening are many White Hyacinth (Triteleia hyacinthina).

Oregon Fawn Lily (Erythronium oregonum), Henderson`s Shooting Star (Dodecatheon hendersonii), and Yellowleaf Iris (Iris chrysophylla) are finished for the season.
