Many people look forward to seeing the balsamroot at this location. Paul Slichter estimates that the balsamroot at lower elevations (between the Crawford Oaks and Dalles Mountain Ranch trailheads) should be good in 7-10 days (around mid-April). Balsamroot at higher elevations (along Stacker Butte Road) will be several weeks later. Also note that the balsamroot will bloom more quickly if there is a stretch of warm weather.
