It`s still early but there are a few things blooming. By far the most prevalent wildflowers are Grass Widows (Olsynium douglasii). There are also abundant Smooth Prairie Stars (Lithophragma glabrum) and Piper`s Desert Parsley (Lomatium piperi), especially at lower elevations. I saw one solitary Yellow Bell (Fritillaria pudica), but there will be more soon.

Patches of Pungent Desert Parsley (Lomatium grayi) are on the verge of blooming. Gold Stars (Crocidium multicaule) are blooming along the trail climbs next to the creek. Several Western Buttercup (Ranunculus occidentalis) are blooming next to the snowmelt `creeklet` above the creek. The nice patches of Columbia Desert Parsley (Lomatium columbianum) along the switchbacks before the power lines are not yet blooming, but should be within the next several weeks.

Beyond/above the power lines, the only thing blooming are Grass Widows (Olsynium douglasii).
