CommentsHikers report that some wildflowers such as chocolate lilies and prairie stars are blooming. Also, the balsamroot has started at lower elevations. However (and even though everything appears to be a few weeks ahead of schedule this spring), the famed balsamroot carpets in the higher elevation meadows will probably not be at full force until early May.
