Blooming in the forest: Western Starflower (Trientalis latifolia), Salal (Gaultheria shallon), Oregon wood sorrel (Oxalis oregana), Candyflower (Claytonia sibirica), Woods Strawberry (Fragaria vesca), Sticky Cinquefoil (Potentilla glandulosa), Slender-tubed Iris (Iris chrysophylla), and Fairy Slipper (Calypso bulbosa). Blooming in the meadows: Western Buttercup (Ranunculus occidentalis), Meadow Death Camas (Zigadenus venenosus), Hairy Owl's Clover (Castilleja tenuis), Annual agoseris (Agoseris heterophylla), Oregon Sunshine (Eriophyllum lanatum), Prairie Lupine (Lupinus lepidus var. lepidus), Slender Sandwort (Minuartia tenella), Farewell-to-Spring (Clarkia amoena), Clustered Broomrape (Orobanche fasciculata), Bluehead Gilia (Gilia capitata), Harsh Paintbrush (Castilleja hispida), Small-Flowered Blue-Eyed Mary (Collinsia parviflora), Large-Flowered Blue-Eyed Mary (Collinsia grandiflora), Baby Stars (Linanthus bicolor), Chickweed Monkeyflower (Mimulus alsinoides), Yellow Monkeyflower (Mimulus guttatus), Olympic Onion (Allium crenulatum), Tolmie's Cat's Ear (Calochortus tolmiei), Rosy Plectritis (Plectritis congesta), and a number of others that I could not identify. Special thanks to Tanya Harvey for pointing out the Orobanche fasciculata and Lupinus lepidus, neither of which I had seen before today's visit! |
