| Comments | What a wonderful wildflower show this hike is this year and right now. We identified 54 different wildflowers. The beargrass and rhododendron at nice at Burnt Lake and fabulous on the Zig Zag ridge and around the peak. Still lots of forest flowers in bloom along the way to the lake. Between the lake and the ridge there is still avalanche lillies and lots of marsh marigolds, beargrass, penstemons and shooting stars. On the ridge and around the peak there are fields of orange paintbrush, mariposa lillies, larkspur, phlox, wolley sunflowers and various penstemons. Its a great show. |
