| Comments | It is still early but the bloom has started. Dozens of calypso orchids (Calypso bulbosa) under the trees lining the old road. A few remaining trillium. Lots of redwood sorrel (Oxalis oregana) but very little has opened yet. Vanilla leaf (Achlys triphylla) starting soon. In the meadows: monkeyflower (Erythranthe guttata) is just starting. Olympic onion (Allium crenulatum) is starting on rocky surfaces with many more on the way. There were still some Oregon fawn lilies (Erythronium oregonum) blooming under the trees, though most were well past peak. Indian paintbrush (Castilleja hispida) starting. Lots of Henderson`s shooting stars (Dodecatheon hendersonii) still blooming. Cutleaf Daisy (Erigeron compositus) and rosy plectritis (Plectritis congesta) and Delphinium starting. |
