The flowers are running a little late this year. We were so happy to see as much blooming as we did.
We shuttled a car to the Tombstone Snow Park then hiked from the lower parking lot to the peak then around to Cone Peak and down to Tombstone.
The trail to the peak was a bit sparse in comparison to my last visit but the meadows near Cone Peak were absolutely perfect!
We saw M. paniculata, Valeriana sitchensis, R. viscosissimum, R. bracteosum, r. lacustre, and R. lobbi, X. tenax, Achlys triphylla, D. menzirsii, Disporum (Prosartes?) hookerii, Hackelia micrantha,
C. alpinum, several paintbrush, Geum macrophyllum,
S. racemosa and stellata, E. aspernum. Anemone lyallii and deltoidea, P. rupicola and I think P. procerus, Arctostaphylos nevadensis, Mitella pentandra, Lomatium martindalei,Arabis howellii,Hydrophyllum tenuipes, Eriophyllum lanatum, Mimulus alsinoides, guttatus and breweri,
Dicentra formosa, Phlox diffusa, Gilia capitata, Ipomopsis agregatta,Allium crenulatum, Cerastium arvense, Polemonium carneum, Collinsia grandiflora, Cornus canadensis, Polygonatum phytolaccaefolium. And there were, I am sure, more!
